Rod and his team are first class in everything they do. I asked them to review my passive radon system and recommend a solution to keep radon at a safe level in my home. They came out (on short notice) and did an EXCEPTIONAL job installing an active radon system, which works great and made for a safe home. Here in the mountains, I highly recommend BRS. I had spoken to other radon removal companies, and they all had wonderful things to say about BRS...which says a lot when your competitors speak to the level of competency, honesty, and integrity. Selecting BRS to install my active radon removal system a no brainer. They reasonably priced the work, stuck to the quote, and delivered exactly what they committed to...not to mention the peace of mind we now have. Money well spent.

We used BRS for waterproofing, encapsulation and crawlspace encapsulation. They did it all in a matter of less than 4 days. The crew was extremely friendly, polite, professional and seemed very hard working. The work they performed was thorough and top notch. They took their time to answer all of our questions as they went. We are very happy with their work and would 100% recommend them

Good experience. Workers were friendly, hard-working, on-time. They dug a surface trench in our crawlspace and installed radon remediation. Front office didn’t try to sell pricier fixes when I gave them my budget. Would hire them again but I don’t think I’ll need work done on my crawlspace for a long time!

Basement & Radon Solutions installed a radon mitigation system in Herb's basement. A 5" diameter hole was drilled through the concrete slab to the earth below, a suction pit was then be created. A 4" schedule 40 PVC suction line was installed in the slab and sealed. Then, the suction line was extended to the basement. Then, a radon suction line was installed in the ground of the basement. The suction line was then connected to the basement suction line. Then, extended to the rear exterior of the home. This is where the radon fan was mounted on the home. Then, the vent pipe was extended above the roofline to expel the radon gas safely. After that, a manometer gauge (homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge) was installed on the suction line pipe in the basement. A varmint and rain guard PVC exhaust cap was installed on all the exterior radon system. These prevent rain, debris, small animals and birds from entering the vent pipe, guarding and extending the life of your radon system. This sub-slab/sub-membrane mitigation system reduced the radon levels to a safe 0.7 pCi/l! It was a pleasure helping Herb make his home happy, healthy & safe!

Basement & Radon Solutions helped resolve the high radon in Ann's home by replacing the fan in the radon system currently located in the home. After the fan was replaced we did another radon test & lowered the radon level in Ann's home. It was a pleasure helping Ann make her home happy, healthy and safe again!

November 12, 2021
Basement & Radon Solutions installed a Sub-Slab mitigation system inside Brooke's basement. The radon suction line was installed in the left end basement slab. After diagnostics for system performance, a 5" diameter hole was drilled through the concrete slab to the earth below. A suction pit was then created. A 4" schedule 40 PVC suction line was installed in the slab, sealed and was extended into the homes attic. The radon fan was mounted in the basement. The radon fan vent pipe was then extended through and properly flashed above the roof of the home. The manometer gauge (homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge) was installed on the suction line pipe in the garage. After installing the mitigation system the radon gas level came back at 2.8 pCi/L! It was a pleasure helping Brooke make her home happy, healthy & safe again.

Basement & Radon Solutions, BRS Pros did a bit of work for Kimberly. Here are the steps we took to help her. 1. Mold Remediation: We started by removing all of the fungus/mold contaminated sub-floor insulation and moisture vapor barrier from crawl space and disposed of. The crawl space sub-floor wood components were then cleaned and deodorized for wood decaying fungi and organic growth. After cleaning an EPA registered fungicide is completely fogged throughout the crawl space. It will kill 99.9% of mold spores and will inhibit the growth of mold and mildew. 2. Spray Foam: A Class A fire rated polyurethane closed cell spray foam insulation was sprayed on the rim joists and sill plates. It prevents air infiltration (unlike fiberglass insulation) and will insulate the wood band plate (rim joist) above the masonry foundation wall. Closed cell foam insulation (moisture and air will not penetrate this product) will fill and seal cracks, cavities and joints. Fiberglass insulation will not perform to prevent air infiltration. This product application will reduce cold spots in the floor adjacent to the main level walls. 3. Foundation vents: The vents were completely sealed with poly-foam insulation from the interior of the crawl space preventing exterior air and moisture into the crawl space. 4. Corrugated Pipe: A 4" suction pipe was installed. In the event the home is tested for radon in the future and found to be elevated, this component will be used with the additional exterior radon system to correct radon levels. 5. Vapor Barrier (Wall): Installed 9-mil white 100% woven reinforced wall liner. Wall liner mechanically fastened/sealed to within 6" of the top of the crawl space foundation wall. 6. Fiberglass Insulation: Installed fiberglass blanket insulation on top of the white vapor barrier to the interior perimeter foundation walls. The insulation is 4" thick which offers an R-13 insulation factor (code compliant for new construction). The insulation was hung approximately 6" from the top of the interior masonry foundation wall to provide a termite inspection and will cover wall to approximately 4" off the ground. 7. Dimple Shield: Installed our heavy duty 20-mil plastic dimple underlayment on the ground below the vapor barrier. It protects from puncture/wear and improves water movement due to the dimpled design. Adding the dimple drainage mat to our 15-mil reinforced ground liner gives homeowner 35-mil protection. 8. Vapor Barrier (Ground): Installed our Premium (walk on, store on) 15-mil white 100% woven reinforced liner. The premium ground liner was nailed/sealed approximately 6" to 12" above the ground to the foundation wall. The 15-mil woven ground liner will control moisture vapor and dampness from the ground. Our woven ground and wall liners are antibacterial, meaning mold and other organic growth will not grow to our liner. 9. Aprilaire Dehumidifier: Aprilaire has been the industry leader in residential humidification control since 1954. The Aprilaire Model E100 Energy Star rated dehumidifier delivers 23% annual energy savings above conventional products. A high-capacity solution designed for humidity control in crawl spaces and basements. The Model E100 removes up to 95 pints (11 7/8 gallons) of moisture per day! Proudly made in the USA, and comes with a five year manufacturer's parts warranty when installed by BRS Pros, an authorized installer for Aprilaire. 10. Lastly, a Hygrometer: Remote Temperature and Relative Humidity Meter stand alone unit with one remote sensor. The wireless remote sensor was mounted in the crawl space to give her an accurate reading of relative humidity. This product will help monitor the effective humidity of the dehumidifier in the crawl space. It was a pleasure making Kimberly's home safe, happy, and healthy!
