We had 3 houses that needed basement work...damp crawl space and one with an unacceptable level of radon (it was 12 and anything above 4 is not good.) We interviewed 3 companies and hired BRS both on price estimate and the professionalism of the estimator/project manager. We were a little dismayed when the project manager moved out of town before the project even started but Rod, the owner, stepped in and said he would make sure everything happened as promised. And he did! This company is great! The crew was always on time and left the property in great shape...hauling away trash generated and sweeping up dirt from the crawl space. Roy was the lead person on our project and he was extremely responsible. Each day when he left, Roy would explain what they had done that day and what would happen the next day. The company did not try to sell us more things than we needed (ex— did not push 2 dehumidifiers as opposed to one) The crew worked in a timely manner. All work was done as expected and even came in $100 under the estimate. Remember the radon? The mitigation they performed reduced it from 12 to 0.2. We would hire them again in a heartbeat.
Also, the office staff was wonderful on the phone and answering questions. Very cheerful, very helpful.

Stephen, Roy, and crew are as honest and helpful as they come. They performed an excellent waterproofing job for me in my finished basement. They went out of their way and worked with me to make sure they solved the problem for me, despite scope creep on the project and several curve balls from my 100 y/o house. Highly recommend these guys

It was a pleasure to work with this company. Stephan, the salesman, answered all my questions and concerns and clearly gave his recommendations for our damp crawlspace. He arrived to get the crew started. The crew were terrific. They seem to work well together and got the job done in one day. Highly recommend Basememt & Radon Solutions.

I have worked in the building and real estate sectors for 40 years and this is absolutely the best company I have ever had the pleasure to work with.
During their installation of my new French drain they encountered unforeseen problems. Rather than come to me with their hand out for more money they tackled the problems with a "all hands on deck" attitude
and smiles on their faces.
The best way to judge a company is not how well they do when things go smoothly for them , rather how they step up , if they do at all ,when things go south.
Basement and Radon Solutions steps up.
Hire them with confidence !

Microbial Growth on Wood Post Yana W.
January 25, 2021

Basement & Radon Solutions, BRS Pros, did quite a bit of work for Yana and this is how it went.

1. Removed all contaminated sub-floor insulation from the crawl space.

2. Fogged a n EPA registered fungicide, cleaner and deodorizer into the crawl space. This will kill 99.9% of mold spores and will inhibit the growth of mold and mildew.

3. Installed new R-19 Kraft faced batt fiberglass insulation to the sub-floor of the crawl space.

4. Sealed all of the foundation vents with 2" rigid foil faced insulation from the interior. This will prevent any exterior air and moisture from entering the crawl space.

5. Made the crawl space RADON READY. We installed 4" suction pipe into the ground. This is for in the event that the home has a high radon gas level reading in the future, this component will be used with an addition on an exterior radon fan.

6. Installed 9 mil white 100% woven reinforced liner to the ground and over the RADON READY piping. This 9 mil vapor barrier will control the moisture vapor and dampness from the ground.

7. Lastly, we installed an Aprilaire 1850 dehumidifier in the crawl space. This model will remove up to 95 pints of moisture per day! It is also made in the USA and comes with a 5 year manufacturers warranty.

It was a pleasure helping Yana get her new home safe, happy, and healthy!

76% Relative Humidity-Elevated Joel S.
January 7, 2021

Basement & Radon Solutions, BRS Pros, did quite a bit of work for Joel. Here are the steps that were taken.

1. Removed all contaminated insulation from the sub-floor.

2. Cleaned the crawl space addition sub-floor of wood decaying fungi and organic growth. Then we fogged an EPA registered fungicide, cleaner, and deodorizer though out the crawlspace. It kills 99.9% of mold spores and will inhibit the growth of mold & mildew.

3. Installed new insulation to the sub-floor in the crawl space.

4. Installed 9-mil wall liner. This is a white 100% woven reinforced wall liner.

5. Installed 15-mil ground liner. This is a premium (walk on/Store on) white 100% woven reinforced liner. The 15-mil woven ground liner will control moisture vapor and dampness from the ground.

*Our woven ground and wall liners are antibacterial- meaning mold and other organic growth will not grow to our liner.

6. Installed a radon ready system in the crawl space addition. A radon piping system was installed below the ground liner. The piping system will be used in the future when the home is tested for radon gas and requires a complete radon system.

7. Added an Aprilaire Model 1820 Dehumidifier. This is a high-capacity solution designed for humidity control in crawlspaces and basements. The Model 1820 removes up to 70 pints of moisture per day!

8. Lastly, we installed a Hygrometer. A Remote Temperature and Relative Humidity Meter stand alone unit with one remote sensor. The wireless remote sensor was mounted in the crawl space to give Joel an accurate reading of the relative humidity. This product will help Joel monitor the effective humidity of the dehumidifier in the crawlspace.

It was a pleasure to help Joel make his home happy, healthy, and safe!

5 Star Google Review Lisa & John G.
January 22, 2021

Basement & Radon Solutions, BRS Pros, installed a Hydra-Channel dewatering system and a Radon Ready system in Lisa & John's rental crawl space. First, we started by digging a clean trench adjacent to the foundation footing along the four interior perimeter foundation walls. The Hydra-Channel was installed according to manufacture's instructions adjacent to the footing. The Hydra-Channel engineered fusion welded high strength polyethylene water system will remove storm water up to 70% faster than a pipe and stone system. This will allow water to flow freely to the in-ground sealed sump pump/basin located in the right rear interior of the crawlspace. Secondly, we installed 9-mil white 100% woven reinforced radon ready crawl space system. A radon piping system was installed below the ground liner. The piping system will be used in the future when the home is tested for radon gas and requires a complete radon system. The 9-mil woven ground liner will control moisture vapor and dampness from the ground. This product will not off gas (known on Google as "crawlspace cat urine odor", go ahead and check it out), we guarantee it!! Our woven ground and wall liners are antibacterial, meaning mold and other organic growth will not grow to the liner. It was a pleasure to help Lisa & John make their rental happy, healthy, and safe!

Approximate location of the suction point in basement. Rebecca T.
January 4, 2021

Basement & Radon Solutions, BRS Pros, installed a radon mitigation system for Rebecca. We started by adding a radon suction line in the basement slab. A 5" diameter hole was drilled through the concrete slab to the earth below where a suction pit was then created. A 4" schedule 40 PVC suction line was installed in the slab and sealed. Then the suction line was extend to the crawlspace. A radon suction line was installed on the ground in the crawlspace, our radon vapor barrier covers the suction line and the earth in the crawlspace. The suction line was connected to the basement suction line and was extend to the rear exterior of the home. The radon fan was mounted on the rear exterior of the home with the vent pipe extending to above the roof to expel the radon gas safely. A manometer gauge (homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge) was installed on the suction line pipe in the basement. A varmint and rain guard PVC exhaust caps were installed on all Basement & Radon Solutions exterior radon systems. This is to prevent rain, debris, small animals, and birds from entering the vent pipe, guarding and extending the life of Rebecca's radon system. If desired the exterior system can be painted in the future for added aesthetics. Lastly, we preformed a post mitigation radon test that came back at 0.9 pi/L! It was such a pleasure to help get Rebecca's new home safe, healthy, and happy!

Sidewalk sections throughout the subdivision were uneven and sunken, causing a trip hazard. We used our poly-foam injection process to lift and level the sections making them consistent in height and safer to walk on.
