We recently purchased a home and had a Radon test completed when we had our general inspection. It was discovered that levels exceeded the recommended limit. So I began a search on local companies in the area and stumbled upon Basement & Radon Solutions. I called and scheduled an appointment and met Stanley at the home. He was on time and very professional as were every single person we encountered at Basement & Radon Solutions. It is not an easy task to find a contractor these days who calls back, who shows up, who shows up on time, who calls even if they are going to be just a few minutes behind, who does exactly what they promised (and then some) each and every time. These people did just that!! I can’t say enough about this company and everyone we encountered that works there. I have great confidence in recommending them to anyone and everyone. They were outstanding to work with.

Basement & Radon Solutions are THE BEST! They are friendly, timely, provide detailed and professional proposals (with reasonable pricing) and execute the work beautifully, when promised. What more could you ask for! While completing installation of my radon system, they discovered that my existing dehumidifier was not functioning, tested it and gave me a proposal for replacement if the original vendor would not repair under warranty. They even included a remote sensor so that I would KNOW in future if we had a problem without having to climb under the house to check on it regularly. Absolutely FIRST CLASS folks!

Basement and Radon Solutions is the best at solving and fixing both Radon and moist, damp wet basement problems. They're very professional, courteous and prompt. They do quality work that might cost a bit more than their competitors, but you're receiving premium products (like thicker liners) and superior and honest workmanship, especially by Stanley. They're the best!

Alex C.
Hendersonville, NC

November 25, 2020
Solution Provided:

Basement & Radon Solutions, BRS Pros, installed a radon mitigation system in Alex's basement. We installed it in the rear basement slab. A 5" diameter hole was drilled through the concrete slab to the earth where the suction pit was created. A 4" PVC suction like was installed in the slab, sealed then extended to the right exterior of Alex's home. The radon fan was mounted on the exterior of his home and a pipe was then extended to past the roof line where the gas is safely expelled. We also placed a Manometer (vacuum gauge) on the pipe for easy viewing for Alex to make sure the radon mitigation system is still operating. Lastly, we did a post mitigation test and it came back at 1.2 pCi/L. It was a pleasure helping Alex get his home happy, healthy, and safe!

Sue S.
Brevard, NC

November 20, 2020
Solution Provided:

Basement & Radon Solutions, BRS Pros, tore out the old radon mitigation system and put in a new sub-slab radon mitigation system in for Sue. We drilled a hole into the slab all the way to the earth to create a suction pit. From the suction pit we installed 4" piping up and out to the exterior of Sue's home. Once the piping is outside it is connected to the radon fan. This radon fan works with the suction pit to draw out the radon gas from under the slab before it enters the living space of Sue's home. From the radon fan the pipe is then extended to over the roofline where the radon gas is expelled safely. We also installed a vacuum gauge called a Manometer. This will allow Sue to monitor the radon mitigation system. BRS Pros also did a 48 hour radon test after the new system was installed. This radon test came back at 2.0 pCi/L. It was such a pleasure to help Sue get her home ready to be sold and making it happy, healthy, and safe!

Basement & Radon Solutions, BRS Pros, installed a Fast Drain system along with a Pro-Series Pump system and Thermal Shield wall liner. The Fast Drain and Pro-Series Pump are products that are meant to help drain any water entering the basement and pumping it out and away. We also installed a Thermal Shield wall liner that is 90-mil thick, Class A Fire Rated & near zero perm rate. This liner has a metal foil face that reflects the natural occurring heat generated in the basement. It also has a plastic moisture barrier that goes against the wall. All of these products together will help keep the basement nice and dry. It was a pleasure helping Region A Partnership for Children make their basement happy, safe, and healthy!

Solution Provided:

Basement & Radon Solutions, BRS Pros, installed a Sub-Slab Radon Mitigation System to Jason & Cecilia's basement. This mitigation system was installed to get rid of the radon gas from underneath the slab of the basement before in enters the living spaces of their home. We installed this by first drilling a hole to create a suction pit in the slab of the basement down to the earth. Then from that suction pit BRS Pros attached the piping up and out to the exterior of the home and out past the roofline. The radon fan was then installed in the pipework. After the radon mitigation system was installed, we did a radon test that came back at 1.4 pCi/L! It was a pleasure helping Jason & Cecilia make their new home happy, healthy, and safe!

Solution Provided:

Basement & Radon Solutions, BRS Pros, installed a radon mitigation system for Louis. The radon suction line was installed in the foyer closet slab. A  a 5" diameter hole was drilled through the concrete slab to the earth below where the suction was created. A 4" schedule 40 PVC suction line was installed in the slab, sealed and then extend through the foyer closet into the attic. The radon fan was mounted in the attic, then the radon fan vent pipe was extended through and was properly flashed above the roof. Then we installed a manometer gauge (homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge) on the suction line pipe in the closet. William M.
Etowah, NC

November 3, 2020
Solution Provided:

Basement & Radon Solutions, BRS Pros, helped William encapsulate/waterproof his crawlspace by doing a few things...

1. We installed corrigated piping to make the crawlspace RADON READY. This will help William with any future elevated radon gas problems.

2. We installed Thermal Shield 90-mil liner to the walls of the crawlspace. The 90-mil liner is metal foil faced and reflective with a plastic moisture barrier. This allows the 90-mil liner to reflect the natural occuring heat generated in the crawlspace for a much warmer space. It's also Class A Fire Rated with a zero perm rate.

3. We installed a 15-mil premium walk on/store on ready, white 100% woven reinforced liner to the flooring of the crawlspace (on top of the RADON READY Piping). This 15-mil premium liner will control the moisture and dampness on the floor of the crawlspace. It is also antibacterial, this means mold and other organic growth will not grow on the liner.

4.We installed an Aprilaire 1820 Dehumidifer in the crawlspace on poly lift piers to promote circulation and prevent metal corrosion. This dehumidifer will remove up to 70 pints of moisture per day! Proudly made in the U.S.A and it comes with a 5 year manufacture's warrenty.

5. Lastly, we installed a Hygrometer Remote Humidity Sensor. This will allow William to keep an eye on his crawlspace's humidity and temperature.

It was such a pleasure helping make William's home happy, healthy, and safe!
